Exit the SmartCircle Remote DS app

The app is set to ensure customers cannot exit it while the media is playing. If the installation steps were followed exactly, the home button, from any screen, will automatically lead to the SmartCircle Remote DS app. If you have removed all “Recent apps” using the standard Android function or button, customers will not be able to exit the app without store aid.

From Remote DS device

  1. Tap the bottom right of the screen 5 times in quick succession.
  2. Enter the PIN code protecting the device and click OK. (Scr. 0006-12)
  3. Press the Menu button in the top right corner of the app and select Exit to the launcher. (Scr. 0006-13)

From Remote DS device with another app in foreground

Through the campaign options, you can have another app running in the foreground. These apps do not register a touch on the screen for the SmartCircle Remote DS app and therefore the app cannot be closed using the From Remote DS device method. In that case, follow these steps:

    1. Press the volume up and volume down button on the device in sequence six times.
      • Meaning press the volume up button, volume down, volume up again, volume down again, and so on until you have pressed each button six times.
    2. Enter the PIN code protecting the device and click OK. (Scr. 0006-12)
    3. Press the Menu button in the top right corner of the app and select Exit to launcher. (Scr. 0006-13)

If you are using an Android dongle on a touch-screen TV or Smart TV and do not have the volume buttons, you have to exit the app using a manager device. See section 3.9 Remote DS devices, fig. 0002-F8 of the SmartCircle - Manager guide for more information. If you do not have a network connection or manager device in your location, restart the Remote DS screen and Android dongle.
